Skin pack – what is it?

It is a method of packing jewellery supplies by placing them on a pad with a brand logo, and then covering with a tight and durable foil called skin foil, which is sucked in with a vacuum pump, thanks to which it fits tightly and clings to details, firmly attaching them to the pad. After this process, it is ready for delivery or for cutting into smaller pieces – depending on the customer’s needs. Vacuum packaging is so delicate that there is no risk of damaging even very small accessories.

Skin pack – jewellery packaging and display

The thermal packaging is perfect for the protection of jewelry components against: scratching, chipping, breaking or other damages. This technique allows you to pack both individual products, and whole sets consisting of the same or mixed elements. The exceptions are large items with sharp corners and edges that could cut the foil. In the case of silver and gold jewelry findings, the foil provides additional protection against high temperature and contact with external factors, protecting the metal against dirt, getting wet, humidity and discoloration. Skin pack vs. ultra skin pack

Skin pack jewellery packaging is very popular due to many advantages, however there is always a slight risk that items with a flat surface, such as dog tags, plaques for engraving, hallmark tags or other silver findings will be accidentally scratched during the manufacturing process. To obtain a perfectly smooth surface, we have introduced an even more advanced packaging method – called ultra skin pack. The difference between these methods starts at the beginning of the process, when the product is separated and has no contact with other jewellery from the very first stage of its production until it reaches the client, thanks to which even the slightest risk of scratches is eliminated. Additionally, in the ultra skin pack option, longer mechanical polishing of jewelry is used followed by additional hand polishing. For comparison, in the skin pack option items go to packaging straight from production or from the warehouse, where have contact with other elements, so there is a risk of minor scratches.
